tempeh cakes from Vegan Brunch
The boyfriend made these! They were so delicious, they are totally tied for Best Boyfriend Meal with
The Sandwich. I showed this recipe to the boyfriend as soon as I saw it, because he loves crab cakes, and he loves tempeh, so this seemed perfect for him. The recipe is fairly complicated, so I was surprised when he volunteered to cook it right away, but he did an awesome job. The cakes were crispy and delicious, and the sauce that went with them was tangy and amazing.
I insisted on a vegetable on the side, because I am a vegetable fascist. The boyfriend cut up a cucumber and we ate it with Miso Mayo, it was really crisp and fresh tasting. It made a great counterpoint to the tempeh cakes.
Boyfriend says: I had a lot of fun making these and I thought they turned out really good. I'm psyched they came out as well as they did. I really liked everything about it, and I'm glad I added some Old Bay to them.

Your boyfriend needs to get his ass over here and teach my boyfriend how to cook. Or at least give him some motivation to try! The tempeh cakes look great, just like the picture in the book!
